COPINE COPIDIS renamed
Why the name change
Through this modification COPIDIS requiring compliance with the Convention for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It was enacted on December 13, 2006 by the United Nations Organization (UNO), which joined our country (National Law No. 26,378). Such a convention
requested that the term should be used is "persons with disabilities." From COPIDIS subscribe to change and promoted the name change COPINE replacing "People with Special Needs "to" Disabled "and also" inclusion "instead of" Integration ".
The term" disability "refers to the situation that people live, rather than personal characteristics. What we do is shown is that its origin is not sociological. Infections during pregnancy may cause these disorders, but the psychologist insists that "there is no single cause but many."

Draft in an amendment to the National Disability Act (24 901) items critical to improving quality of life for our children with PDD and all persons with disabilities. This project has been approved unanimously by the Members of the Committee on Disability but now is the Health Committee who should be treated. There is much resistance from some members of the Health Commission to approve this project. We appeal to the sensitivity of the deputies of Health to give them our children the right to a dignified life, to have coverage of the treatments they need to improve their quality of life and achieve full social integration in a society that also belongs. pioneer in Spain, the Hospital Gregorio Marañón in Madrid has launched a comprehensive treatment unit for the care of patients with autism. It thus seeks to address the medical needs of these patients and improve communication with other medical services of the hospital.
The objective of this initiative is to "eliminate barriers" that these patients have access when the health system, for which the unit has a team of psychiatrists and psychologists since it went into operation on 1 April, has treated 30 people.
The unit is to receive referrals of patients with this condition to receive direct care by family doctors or any public network specialist. After presenting a simple report to justify the diagnosis, each patient is channeled "giving priority to those most in need," said the coordinator of the unit, Mara Parellada.
